About Kimber Kable

For over two and a half decades KIMBER KABLE has led the audio/video cable industry in technology and precision manufacturing. Established in 1979, Kimber Kable is the brainchild of inventor, engineer and entrepreneur Ray Kimber. In the mid '70s Ray worked at a sound and lighting company in Los Angeles, at a time when the first big discotheques were being installed. The problem he had was that the lighting systems were generating noise that was being picked up by the speaker cable. Ray had the idea of using counter-rotating sets of conductors to cancel the magnetic interaction effect, and he was correct, the noise was greatly reduced! To his surprise, there was also quite a difference in perceived audio quality. It was that discovery of noise elimination and improved fidelity that set him to developing cable designs.

Speakerlab, having been born out of a similar passion for 'out of the box' thinking and design, recognized the improvements in audio quality offered by the new cable designs and has been a dealer since the beginning, building Kimber Kable assemblies in house.
