Speakers and Kits: POINT LINE

The name Point Line is shorthand for the core engineering philosophy behind these new speakers:

	Point - coherent, point-source behavior afforded by the use of small, closely spaced drivers in small (under one cubic foot) form factors that make them a practical addition to any environment.
	Line - linear response with predictable dispersion to work equally well in two channel or multi-channel environments and a linear progression in size and function, allowing a mix and match approach based on room parameters.

The Point Line is designed around a new wool & pulp 5.25" woofer with a patented voice coil design that is large for good power handling, while still providing delicate midrange which is the hallmark of a great bookshelf speaker. Complimenting the new woofer is a 1" soft dome tweeter designed with broad dispersion and the solid dynamics Speakerlab has always been known for. Each model has a crossover tailored to optimize the drivers in each enclosure, using our own custom wound inductors (custom made right here in Washington!) and hand matched components for accurate voicing. The Cabinets are 3/4" thick MDF to prevent any vibration (also made here in Washington) and are filled with environmentally friendly (and acoustically superior) Bamboo batting.

Each speaker in the line is available in a variety of versions:

• EK (Electronics Kit) consisting of all the parts you need (woofer, tweeter, crossover, back cup, wire and filler). Does not include the cabinet.
  This kit is for the person who wants to build and finish their own enclosure. We provide the dimensional information needed for the speaker to perform optimally, the rest is up to you.
• UKM (Unfinished Kit, MDF) consisting of the Electronics Kit, plus an unfinished MDF cabinet and fasteners. This kit is for the person who wants to just put the finish on a cabinet (or leave it raw) and assemble their speakers – this is the quickest and least expensive way to great sound!
• UKV (Unfinished Kit, Veneer) consisting of the Electronics Kit, plus an unfinished veneered cabinet and fasteners. This kit is for the person who wants to just put the finish on a cabinet (or leave it raw) and assemble their speakers! We chose a veneer that takes stain well, so you can stain it the color you want.

We may add more finishes and versions, and can do completely custom work if needed.
